What is Pups For Pandas?
Pups For Pandas is an event that was originally going to bring pups and their people together for an evening of fun, friends and raising money for Red Panda conservation. Unfortunately, the current pandemic did not allow for the event to go as scheduled. Nothing is going to stop us from supporting animals in need, so we decided to make our Pups for Pandas event digital and have an online auction to raise money for Red Pandas.
In spirit of how Pups For Pandas was truly intended, let’s bring the dog party to our Facebook Page! From September 18 – 20th, we’d love to see pictures of you and your pups supporting Red Pandas!
The Cause
Red panda population has declined by 50% over the last 20 years with as few as 2,500 remaining in the wild. Main contribution to their decline is habitat loss and fragmentation due to unsustainable harvest of the bamboo forest which makes up 98% of the red pandas diet.
All money raised from Pups for Pandas will be donated to the Red Panda Network. The proceeds will help the Red Panda Network work alongside Nepal’s local communities to help educate, find sustainable solutions to deforestation, and habitat restorations.
